This month’s employee spotlight is on Debra Blighton. Debra is in our commercial department and has been in insurance for over 32 years. Here’s a bit about her in her own words:
Debra returned to Albuquerque in October 2014 after a 8 year absence. She, like Georgia O’Keefe found the spiritual aspect of the area compelling and followed her desire to return. She loves all things “New Mexico”; The Jemez, Nob Hill, Sandia Peak, Tent Rocks, La Luz, the colour of the sky at sunset, the art, the culture, and of course the food. She will welcome her first grandchild in April and is over the moon with happiness.
In her spare time, Debra stages houses for a local Real Estate agent, hikes the local trails, and enjoys her family and friends.
This month’s employee spotlight is on Sharon Elliott. She works in our personal lines department and has been in the insurance field for 25 years—20 of those with Brown & Brown. She really enjoys helping and talking with people.
When asked what she likes to do outside of work, Sharon said that she really enjoys the outdoors. She loves to walk, hike, and travel. Sharon’s dog is MK, who she often calls her “buddy”, and MK often accompanies Sharon in her outdoor adventures. She is very active at church and plays the bells there as often as possible.
The most important thing on Sharon’s mind lately is the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. She is very passionate about the cause and is organizing our office as a team for the 5 mile walk.
In light of all of the recent weather disasters and catastrophes, we in the Brown & Brown personal lines department want to be sure you aren’t in for a surprise (the bad kind, not the good kind) if something were to happen to you. It is important that you understand the coverages provided to you by homeowner’s insurance and your auto insurance. Contact your agent today to review your policy.
Review Your Policy
The first thing to do is read your policy. Car insurance terminology can be a bit daunting, but the main thing to know is your limits of liability, your uninsured motorist coverage, and your deductibles. For home insurance, make sure that your dwelling coverage is at replacement cost. There is obviously a lot more to each policy, and if you have questions, our personal lines agents are here to help.
